As you may have heard, CUPE Local 4500 workers at Coast Mountain Bus Company are escalating strike actions beginning at 3:00am on Monday, January 22nd and lasting for 48 hours. This will effectively shut down bus service in the Lower Mainland.
Support is needed to bolster these workers’ picket lines. Lines will be set up continually for 48 hours, but support is especially needed in the mornings between 7-11am. It is essential to effectively shut down services to limit the impact on the public and pressure Coast Mountain Bus Company to return to the table and respond to the union’s last offer.
Picket line locations are below. You can also view this interactive map to find the location closest to you. Priority locations are the Burnaby Transit Centre and the Vancouver Transit Centre. But please attend the location most convenient for you.
